About Deena Von Yokes
 Deena Von Yokes, is a 30 year veteran of the salon industry and the daughter of well known advanced hair designer and salon owner, Vickie Lavanty. Deena was practically born with a hairbrush in one hand and scissors in the other. With her risk-taking, entrepreneurial spirit, Deena has been running with scissors from an early age.
Deena spent much of her childhood in her mother’s salon, watching, learning and loving it all. Her destiny was engineered by genetics and environment and her heavily engrained love of fashion and beauty has never waned.
A pivotal moment along Deena's career path was an international hair show in London. There she met Vidal Sassoon, with whom her mother Vickie had trained. Deena had the good fortune of meeting and observing Sassoon's right-hand and colorist, Annie. Deena knew she was witnessing a true artist, a forward thinker and her new mentor. In that instant, Deena’s future came to light. She was now to become a Master Hair Colorist. She returned home and took action by attending Framesi Brand Course Study. She has since taken countless classes and attended many International Expos, to ensure she and her staff perfects their skills with state-of-the-art products and techniques.
Deena has now become the teacher; she currently conducts an Advanced Hair Design and Color Academy for other licensed Hair Designers in their Solana Beach location. She has also had the honor of being a Platform Artist at hair expos nationwide. Deena says "Knowledge is power and continuing education is an integral part of our culture. It is our goal to raise the standards of quality and professionalism in the salon industry".
About Angela Von Yokes
Fate and family brought Deena and Angela together. Shortly after Angela became Deena’s sister-in-law, they developed a personal and professional bond that has remained strong for greater than 20 years. It began when Deena invited Angela, a then licensed nail technician, to work alongside her in her quaint Del Mar salon. Angela had prior experience in sales, marketing and the retail industries. Angela underwent the world's best customer service training available "The Nordstrom's Way". That experience and training became the foundation of Studio Savvy's commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.
Angela, now a 20 year veteran of the beauty industry, knows what it takes. She took care of her family, worked as an apprentice to Deena, a master hair colorist and Vickie Lavanty, an advanced hair design expert, all while obtaining her Cosmetology License.
Angela credits her superior hair design skills to passion, tenacity and ongoing education. Angela's skills, entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen have contributed significantly to the success Studio Savvy enjoys today.
