Kris Jenner Goes Platinum Blonde: Prepare To Do A Double Take
2019 has been nothing if not full of surprises. From a Country/Hip Hop collab topping the Charts, to the Internets reaction to Will Smith as Genie in the upcoming live action version of Aladdin (coming to theaters on the 24th by the way). And then we get the 2019 Met Gala which was flush with its own surprises and OMG moments as well.
With this years Camp theme, there were of course several hits and misses. Harry Styles blew us all away in a design by Gucci’s Alessandro Michele. And then, unsurprisingly, there was Lady Gaga’s showstopping entrance that still has us at a loss for words.
But today we aren’t going to talk about the best dressed or most questionable design choices.
No, today we are talking hair. And not Tessa Thompson and her pony tail that doubled as a fully functional whip. Today we are talking about Kris Jenner and that platinum blonde bob. Apparently inspired by her daughter, Kylie, who suggested that she make a Met Gala appearance as a blonde.
The move was one of the most dramatic examples of a new hair color changing someones appearance COMPLETELY. Gone was the classic Kris Jenner brunette boss hair do. Replaced instead with a platinum blonde cut that was part of a major aesthetic change for our favorite celebrity momager.
Kris, took on two of the Spring’s biggest trends in one swoop. Going blonde, or lighter, is one of the most popular style changes when the Sun starts to come back out and the Spring air starts to warm. It isn’t exactly a groundbreaking trend as it happens every year. The asymmetrical cut is a little more note worthy though. With longer lengths of hair coming forward towards her chin, the sleek styling and side part drew attention to the navy blue smoky eye she was sporting.
It wasn’t Jenner’s first time going blonde though. If you remember, she tested a platinum blonde pixie cut in early 2018. Is this going to be a continued trend from Kris? All we know is that there will always be someone in the Kardashian family that will be on our radar.
